What is the difference between the Gold and Purple Sea Moss?

Sea Moss is a nutrient dense algae that holds 90% of minerals and vitamins that your body needs for proper function. It is firm in texture and ranges in color from green, red, purple, brown and the most commonly seen color, golden white.

While all Sea Moss carries the same beneficial qualities and can be used to create a gel that has a wide array of traditional uses, certain colors contain Phytonutrients that are unique to them.

Comparing Gold and Purple Sea Moss, is very similar to comparing Green and Purple cabbage. Purple Sea Moss, contains powerful antioxidants called Anthocyanins, which are commonly found in blue and purple fruits or vegetables. Anthocyanins are linked to health benefits such as stronger bones, a healthier heart, lower inflammation and protection against certain types of cancers.

Purple Sea Moss is dried in a dark room to avoid losing it's unique color and benefits. This is a lot more time consuming than the sun drying method used for Gold Sea Moss.

Purple Sea Moss is also known to have a slightly stronger smell and taste than Gold Sea Moss.
